Fares for these services to Ayutthaya vary hugely, depending on what type of train you take, class and if the carriage is air-conditioned or not.
Due to the way Thai rail tickets are constructed (with many different types of fixed fees payable for any distance travelled), the Express and Special Express fares are very expensive for this short trip and best avoided.
If you are on a budget. stick with the cheap Ordinary or Rapid services.
