Advance booking for this service is highly advisable as you will not get a seat at many times of the year during school holidays, public holidays and weekends etc.
Tickets can be purchased in advance, anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months in advance (depending on when KTM release the tickets for sale).

Another good alternative to travel from Penang to Seremban by train is to take a much more frequent ETS train from Butterworth to KL Sentral in Kuala Lumpur, then change onto a KTM Komuter train for the last part of the journey to Seremban.
