Travel on the ETS train between KL and Sungai Petani (SP) is quick and fairly cheap, with two types of services to choose from on this route:
Gold ETS Services are the cheaper of the two options as they are slightly slower (stopping at more station along the route).
ETS Platinum Services are quicker as they only stop at the main stations.
Fares between KL and SP shown below are for one-way trips.
Return tickets are double the cost of a single ticket.
Please note: From March 2020, KTM has introduced a new Flexi Fare system so the fares will vary from those shown below.

ETS Gold Fares:
The Adult fare is: 62 MYR

You have a choice of where to buy your ETS train tickets in Malaysia:
Either, visit any ETS railway station ticket counter where you can buy advance tickets for any route.
You should always try to book your tickets as far in advance as you can as trains can often be fully booked at busy times of the year.
Malaysians like to travel, especially at weekends, public holidays and when one of the many religious festivals is being held.
So, turning up at the station hoping to buy a ticket on the day of travel is not a good idea.
