The ETS Sungai Buloh to Alor Setar train is the quickest way to travel overland to the state capital of Kedah state, Malaysia.
It is also another good option for travelling to Langkawi from Sungai Buloh as the nearby port of Kuala Kedah has regular ferry boat services over to Kuah town on the island.
