The KTM Ipoh to TBS train is the quickest way to travel to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS Bus Terminal) and you can either take a direct ETS to the Bandar Tasik Selatan (BTS) Railway Station (connected via a footbridge to the bus station) or for many more departure times, you can first take an ETS train to KL Sentral, then another short train ride from there to TBS.
The advantages of taking the ETS train to TBS rather than a bus are:
1) The train will get you to TBS much faster than a travelling by bus.
2) Trains depart from the Ipoh Railway Station located in the "Old Town" which is easily reached by foot if you are staying in this part of the city. If you were to travel by bus from Ipoh to TBS, you would first have to take a local bus from Medan Kidd bus terminal to Amanjaya bus terminal (located 10 km to the north of Ipoh Old Town).
The disadvantage is that it is more expensive.
