If you want to travel from KTM Kuala Lumpur to Butterworth (for Georgetown on Penang Island / Pulau Pinang) from the old railway station in KL (Terminal KTM), all trains heading to Butterworth Penang Sentral will stop off here on their journey north.
Trains depart from the old Moorish Kuala Lumpur Station just a few minutes after leaving from KL Sentral for Butterworth.

Once you arrive at Butterworth Railway Station, if your final destination is Penang Island, you have to walk for a couple of minutes to the new Penang Sentral Terminal building where the ferry service to Georgetown departs from.
