Travelling to Langkawi Island?
One of the most popular places to travel by ferry is from the Jetty at Kuala Kedah to Langkawi and its main port at the Jetty in Kuah town.
From Kuala Kedah Jetty there are many high-speed boats that make the trip over to Langkawi every day of the year.
The trip to Kuah is scheduled to take just one hour, 45 minutes.
These fast boats are operated by the Langkawi Ferry Line and there are frequent trips a day in each direction, with the first ferry to Langkawi leaving at 7am and the last ferry at 7pm.

If you don't have your own transport, the only way to get to the Jetty at Kuala Kedah, is either by taxi or by a local bus that operates between here and the nearby city of Alor Setar.

One way tickets on these ferries coat 23 MYR for Adults and 17 MYR for Children aged between 3 and 12 years old.
Tickets are normally sold as one-way tickets only and there is no discount for return fares.
You will have to buy your return ticket from the ticket counters at Kuah Jetty, which are located outside the main terminal building, behind the KFC restaurant.
You can purchase your ferry tickets at the Kuala Kedah Ferry Terminal.
The ticket counter at Kuala Kedah (kaunter tiket feri Kuala Kedah) is on your right as you enter the terminal building.
