Ratchaprarop Station in Bangkok Thailand (สถานีราชปรารภ) is served by the Airport City Line trains running in between Phaya Thai Station and Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

It  is the 2nd station of the City Line on the way to BKK airport.

Location

The Ratchaprarop Station is located above the intersection of Ratchaprarop Road (รถนนราชปรารภ) and Nikhom Makkasan Road (ถนนนิคมมักกะสัน) which is known as Makkasan Intersection (แยกมักกะสัน) in the Ratchathewi District of Bangkok.

By  Canal Boat

Around 1 km south of the station at Pratunam Intersection, you can board a canal boat from Pratunam Pier (ท่าเรือประตูน้ำ) also known as Centre Pier.

The canal boats run on the San Saep canal (also spelled Saen Saeb - แสนแสบ) from 05.30 to 20.30 on Monday - Friday and from 05.30 to 19.00 on Sat. / Sun. and Public Holidays.

Ticket fare goes from 10 to 20 THB depending on the number of piers you travel and tickets are purchased in the boat itself.

From Pratunam it is a fast and convenient way to escape the Bangkok traffic jam and to go to Khaosan area in Banglamphu (Phan Fa Lilat pier – ผ่านฟ้าลีลาส) or Nana (Nana Nuea Pier – ท่าเรือนานาเหนือ).

If you choose to board a Taxi you should know that the Taxis waiting right outside the escalator of Ratchaprarop Station are usually refusing to turn on their meters.

They are actually often turning down Thai customers, preferring to wait for foreign tourists in order to cash in!

Don’t mind them!

Just go a few metres away to the main road and wave your hand at one passing Taxi and insist on going by the meter.
